Call A Pet Egg Hatching Guide: How to Hatch Eggs and What You Get
How to hatch eggs in Call A Pet: carry one from the Forest, Savannah, Desert, Snow or Volcano zone back to your base, place it, and what you can hatch.
You hatch an egg in Call A Pet by carrying it back from the wild and placing it in your base, inside the safe zone. The egg then hatches into a pet that earns cash for you on its own — no purchase is needed anywhere on this route. The only hatch-related thing money can buy is an optional 2x hatch speed pass.
How to hatch an egg, step by step
- Grab an egg in a wild zone. Eggs sit in five zones — Forest, Savannah, Desert, Snow and Volcano — and each nest is guarded by a boss you have to get past. (The cold biome shows up as "Snow" in the official description but as "Antarctic" in player videos; the sources use different labels for what is almost certainly the same zone.) For tactics on getting an egg away from its guardian, see the egg stealing guide; the zones guide covers each biome in more detail.
- Carry it back to your safe zone. This is the game's own instruction: "Carry the egg back to your safe zone and hatch it." Don't try to hatch it where you found it — the safe zone is the destination.
- Place your egg in your base. A recorded play session relays the exact in-game instruction: "Place your egg in your base." No specific nest, pedestal or extra button is documented, so putting the egg down in your base is the action that sets the hatch in motion.
- Wait for the hatch. A placed egg doesn't pop instantly. The shop sells a "2x hatch speed" pass, which only makes sense if a placed egg hatches over a duration the pass can shorten — so expect a wait, but the game doesn't state how long it lasts.
- Recognize success. The hatch worked when the egg has become a pet — and once you place it, "Every pet you place earns money for you, even while you explore." A placed, cash-generating pet in your base confirms the whole carry–place–hatch loop did its job.
Everything from step 2 onward happens in your base inside the safe zone — the walled, grassy home area the game sends you back to.
What your egg can hatch into
The game's RARE FINDS text reads: "Hatch Golden and Rainbow pets with huge income bonuses, and hunt the legendary Secret pets: Cerberus, Anubis and Yeti!" That puts documented results on a scale from ordinary pets up to:
- Golden and Rainbow pets — explicitly described as hatch results, carrying huge income bonuses on top of a normal pet's earnings.
- Secret pets: Cerberus, Anubis and Yeti — the legendary named tier. Note the wording: the game says to hunt these rather than hatch them, so the sources don't confirm that all three come from eggs.
No odds, percentages or per-zone egg types are published, so treat any specific hatch chance you see elsewhere as unverified.
Requirements, costs and timing
- The only real prerequisite is getting an egg home. No level, currency or item purchase gates hatching itself — the barrier is the boss guarding each nest.
- Hatching is free; speed is the only paid factor, and it's optional. A reviewer's shop check found the game's only passes are "2x cash and 2x hatch speed" and calls the game "not pay to win." The 2x hatch speed pass shortens the wait if you want it, but you can hatch eggs without spending anything.
After the hatch
Place your new pet and it starts earning cash even while you explore, so income keeps building while you head back out for the next egg. For what to do with pets once they're hatched, continue to the pet placement guide.
