Call A Pet Movement Guide: Ride Faster and Jump Higher

How to move around the Call A Pet map faster: call a pet and ride it to run faster and jump higher, then train on treadmills to boost your speed further.

To get around Call A Pet quickly, you call a pet and ride it. That is the movement system the game itself describes: "Call your pet and ride it across the map. Run faster, jump higher, and train on treadmills to boost your speed." It has two layers that work together — riding gives you an immediate speed and jump boost, and treadmill training raises your speed on top of that. This guide covers what each layer does and how to combine them.

How you cross the map: riding a called pet

Call A Pet's world spans five biomes — forest, savanna, desert, antarctic and volcano — and riding a called pet is the documented way to cross it. The prerequisite is simple: you need at least one pet. If you're just starting out, the Call A Pet beginner guide covers the early game; once you have a pet, you call it, mount up, and ride toward wherever you need to go.

While mounted, you run faster and jump higher. Note that the jump boost is part of the riding package — the game lists it only alongside riding, not as a separately trainable stat. You don't grind jump; you get it by being on a pet.

There is also no fast-travel shortcut to manage. Riding is the one traversal method the game's own materials document, and no teleport or fast-travel system is described — getting somewhere means actually crossing the ground, which is exactly what riding speeds up.

This matters most at the far edges of the map. During the game's official-release stream, an admin spawned a secret pet at the very far end of the map and players raced across to reach it — while one player without a good pet was left asking how he was even supposed to get there. One release-day event doesn't prove a rule, but it shows the practical picture: distant areas are reachable, and a good mount is what makes reaching them realistic instead of a long slog.

Treadmills: training your speed stat

Riding is the immediate layer; treadmills are the investment. The same feature line that promises faster running names the method: "train on treadmills to boost your speed."

Training is a real, repeatable activity, not a one-off tutorial step. On release day, the admin repeatedly told players to "train your speed right now" and sent everyone off to train their pets before a spawn event — players were actively using it as preparation before crossing the map.

Your pets benefit too. A tester on that stream explained that pets also gain speed through training, working like a passive, though he reckoned the gain comes faster when the player character does the training — about half faster, by his rough estimate. Treat that figure as an off-hand, live-translated guess rather than a tested number; the useful takeaway is that training isn't only for your character.

One thing the sources don't settle: whether trained speed carries over to walking on foot, or applies only while mounted, and whether each pet's speed trains separately. It doesn't change what you should do — since the plan is to ride the pet you trained, you get the benefit either way. Exact speed values aren't published anywhere, and like the rest of the game's balance they can shift after updates.

Putting it together

  1. Get a pet to travel on. Riding is the whole foundation of fast movement.
  2. Call and ride it whenever you set out — the mounted package gives you faster running and higher jumping at once.
  3. Train on treadmills between trips, especially before long crossings or events, to raise your speed (and your pet's).
  4. Ride the trained pet. The trained speed and the mounted run/jump benefits apply together, which is the fastest documented setup for covering the five biomes.

Once you can cross the map quickly, the next question is where to go — the Call A Pet zones guide breaks down the map's biomes. And while you're training up your first strong mount, it's worth a quick check of the current Call A Pet codes.
